KEVIN FRETZ

Founder and Principal of Sustainable Technology Development.

Mr. Fretz is North America’s leading Eco-Capitalist, with over 30 years of multi-disciplinary experience in business development and environmental product engineering. Mr Fretz pioneered the emerging food waste management and organics recycling industry in the -1980's and has successfully diverted and recycled more than one million tons of clean, green organic waste from U.S. landfills. Mr Fretz' work has successfully bridged the gap between economics and the environment.

Mr. Fretz' passion for uniting industry and the environment began early in life where he grew up on a farm located at the base of the Niagara Escarpment in Ontario, Canada. This location is registered as one of the world's well-known biospheres. At that time, little was known about the environmental consequence or the exposure to toxic waste. After recovering from a life-threatening illness caused by contaminated soil and water on his family’s farm, Mr. Fretz began his life’s mission and passion to protect others from the same health consequences that he suffered.

Mr. Fretz launched his environmental career with Internationally known, Browning-Ferris Industries (BFI) Canada.  It was here that he was trained to manage both large and small waste management clients with integrated recycling programs. One notable program was the Vancouver International Airport. Beginning in Vancouver, Mr Fretz pioneered an organic diversion program that quickly becoming the new mandate here in the United  States.

In 1993 Mr. Fretz immigrated permanently to the United States and accepted a position with BFI’s newly formed organics division in Irvine California. He was instrumental in the implementation of the first commercial organics diversion program. The program was designed to manage organic waste and conserve space in California's overburdened landfills. This program was the prelude to what would later become the commercial organics industry that we see in supermarkets today.

After concluding his tenure with Browning Ferris Industries, Mr. Fretz endeavored to create his own organic materials research and development company, Greenways Environmental. It was here that he developed a line of novel horticulture and agricultural products. Unlike traditional products in the market place, Mr. Fretz specially-designed products that provided uncommon benefits such as disease suppression, water conservation, soil enrichment and that encouraged biological diversity that would protect and improve the environment.

These organic products were widely-distributed in multiple states by internationally known companies like John Deere and Helena. These products have successfully been used by farms such as Green Paradise Farms in California and hundreds of landscape companies, including the largest integrated landscape service provider in the world, Valley Crest Landscape Companies. Greenways’ products were specified as the Blue Ribbon standard in Orange County California, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, the Wynn Resort, MGM Grand, Bellagio, and Mirage resorts in Las Vegas, the cities of Los Angeles, San Bernardino, San Jose, San Juan Capistrano, and Las Vegas.

In 2016, Mr. Fretz founded Green Earthology, Inc. to address industry’s environmental challenges with profitable environmental solutions. We look forward to improving our clients' bottom line.

Mr. Fretz is a sought-after public speaker in both Canada and the United States.
